August Favourites

Danielle Levy, August Favourites, beauty blogger, lifestyle blogger, Wirral blogger, Liverpool blogger,

Is anyone else getting super excited for Autumn to come along or is it just me? I also feel like I was just going back to work and I blinked and August is already over, so to bring the month to an end I thought I would share all of my favourite products I've been loving including some of my work and skincare essentials that are helping me with wearing surgical face masks for over 10 hours a day.

Wearing makeup at work with a face mask?! | My current makeup and skincare favourites for work

Danielle Levy, nurse blogger, wearing makeup with a face mask, health blogger, Liverpool blogger, Wirral blogger,

I've been back at work for a couple of weeks now and me and my skin have been adjusting to wearing a surgical face mask for over 10 hours as well as getting specially fitted for our tighter fitting masks that have to be worn for different procedures. Usually for work I'll wear a full face of makeup cause without it, my face is pretty scary and it helps me to look a lot more rested when in reality I've only had 4 hours sleep. However with having to wear a mask for so long, I've really simplified my makeup routine and focused more on my skincare to take the best possible care of my skin.

Why Getting Sleep Is So Important | My Sleep Routine

Danielle Levy, Why sleep is so important, sleep routine, lifestyle blogger, nurse blogger, Wirral blogger, Liverpool blogger,

I honestly envy those of you out there that have a 9-5 job that have a fairly consistent bedtime and wake up. Having to shield for 18 weeks was genuinely the first time in about 7-8 years that I had a consistent time that I went to bed and woke up. Having gone back to work and the mix of getting up at 5am and going to bed at 8am, it's really made me realise I was missing having a sort of routine with my sleep cause I've noticed that when I make a effort to actually do my sleep routine, my quality of sleep is so much better and I feel better physically and mentally.

Getting Back To Work After The Pandemic

Danielle Levy, nursing, life after the pandemic, Wirral blogger, nurse blogger, lifestyle blogger, Liverpool blogger,

I am very much a homebody but I still love the social side of my work, whether it be catching up with my work friends, work parties or going to blogging events and meeting my blogging friends for drinks. I never thought that being told I wasn't allowed to leave my house at all or even interact with my own family for months would change so much within me.

Why You Need Retinol In Your Skincare Routine | Dermalogica Retinol Clearing Oil

Danielle Levy, Dermalogica Retinol Clearing Oil, Retinol, Dermalogica Retinol, beauty blogger, Wirral blogger, Liverpool blogger,

I remember being a teenager and the first thing about skincare I can recall was the whole cleanse, tone and moisturise routine, but now being in my late 20's my knowledge of skincare is just growing and growing. As my knowledge of skincare has evolved something I've been looking into trying out is retinols as it seems to be the wonder product that's on everyone's lips and I got the opportunity to try out Dermalogica's latest retinol launch so it couldn't have been more perfectly timed to slip it into my skincare routine.

Dealing With Chronic Pain | Our Remedy Review

Danielle Levy, Our Remedy, CBD oil, Our Remedy CBD, health blogger, Wirral blogger, Liverpool blogger,

As someone that suffers with chronic pain, I already rattle like a pill bottle with my medications to keep the pain at a manageable level so you know when it comes to that time of the month and cramps the last thing I want to take is another pill to help it not feel like my uterus is trying to turn itself inside out! Something I've been looking into since the beginning of 2020 is trying out CBD oil to see if it can help not only with my chronic pain but also if it can help with my anxiety and help calm my overactive mind.

July Favourites

I can't believe that we're already into August and I'm looking back at some of my favourites during July, 2020 has completely flown by! I vote that we don't count 2020 into our age! It's been a while since I last did a monthly favourites blog post but whilst I've been in lockdown, I've been changing up what I use and not using the same things day in day out.

First Impressions: Antipodes Skincare

Danielle Levy, Antipodes skincare, skincare blogger, beauty blogger, Wirral blogger, Liverpool blogger,

I have been using all my time during shielding to be able to test out new products because let's face it if I have reaction or break out, nobody besides my immediate family would be seeing my face so I completely took advantage! During my period of shielding, the very lovely Em Sheldon got in touch as she was aware I am a Critical Care nurse and she wanted to show some love to NHS workers. She had kindly organised little pamper packages and she passed along my information to the lovelies at Antipodes who sent me some skincare goodies as a little thank you for being an NHS nurse.
