Safiya Nygaard X Colourpop Lipsticks First Impressions

Now I don't know about you but I have a lipstick addiction and what's probably even worst is that I don't even wear lipsticks everyday all day because of work and makeup free days but boy that does that not stop me from picking up lip products or buying new lip product launches. Now since I've been into watching YouTube videos I've always loved videos with Safiya Nygaard and after watching so many bad makeup science videos, you know when I spotted her launching her own lipsticks I had to get my hands on them!

Before getting these Safiya Nygaard lipsticks, I'd never tried anything from Colourpop. At the same time as getting them I also got an eyebrow pencil which I'm now obsessed with. Unfortunately for beauty addicts in the UK until about last year we were unable to get Colourpop products without having to play the guessing game of customs.

Now I can't be the only person that every time I spotted a bad makeup science video in my subscription box suddenly wanted to raid my makeup drawers and start cutting up lipsticks along with Safiya. I love that with this collection Safiya decided that she wanted to recreate all the bad makeup science lip colours she has created to allow us to get those lipsticks without us having to spend hours butchering our current lipstick collections. I ended up going for the complete collection as whilst I loved all the shades I could realistically see myself wearing about four of the six shades, it was more cost effective to get the complete collection than buying them individually and I thought that buying all six might encourage me to get outside my comfort zone with lipstick colours.

I love that the scent of the lipsticks isn't super overpowering but they also don't have that play do scent, you all know what I mean. The collection comes with four cremes (Fred, Bikini Bottom, Mrs Norris and Berry Me in Lipsticks) and two mattes (Screamer and Brucie). Now obviously these can smudge as they're normal bullet lipsticks and not liquid lipsticks but I have been confidently wearing them without lip liner and haven't had them smudging all over my face. My two all-time favourites from the collection are definitely Screamer and Berry Me in Lipsticks as they're the too colour options I tend to gravitate more towards but I have been loving bringing Fred and Bikini Bottom into the rotation, maybe one day I'll be brave enough to wear Brucie out all day. I find that I can get 2/3 of a day out of my first application before I need to reapply, it is one that will transfer onto other things like cups etc so it is something to remember but other than that I'm really impressed with the formula as even the mattes don't try out my lips.

What's your favourite Colourpop product?

Speak to you next time!
