Looking After My Hands With Leighton Denny

Being a nurse you can only imagine how battered my hands are at the minute, all the hand washing and alcohol gel so I've really been trying to make an effort to take care of my hands as having sore hands and having to wash them multiple times a day is not nice. For the past couple of weeks I've been testing out a couple of things from Leighton Denny to transform my tired nursing hands so they don't look 10 years older than they actually are.

Leighton Denny
Leighton Denny may have begun as a forklift driver but has quickly become one of the UK's leading nail and beauty experts. He has his own line of nail and beauty products that have quickly become cult favourites with everything from tanning, lip products, and fragrances to everything nail related so I was really excited to be trying out some of the nail/hand products and give myself a much needed pamper. The folks over at Leighton Denny took pity on my poor nurse hands and sent me over a couple of their hand care essentials and a couple of nail polishes from the capsule collection to truly give myself a bit of a pamper.

Now when I initially got these nail polishes I was still in work but unfortunately since then I've been deemed too vulnerable to be in work at the minute with COVID-19 so I've been taking the opportunity and will continue to enjoy painting my nails and having pretty hands, this might be short lived as work may be able to find me a job that doesn't require contact with other people for the next 12 weeks. They kindly sent me along three shades from their capsule collection, cashmere sweater, kinky boots, and trench coat. I've been using the shades cashmere sweater with kinky boots on a couple of accent nails and I've been using trench coat as a brilliant easy to wear nude that I can just throw on with no rhythm or reason. I am really tough on my hands and nails so I really struggle to find nail polishes that don't chip within the first couple of days and I've found that these polishes from Leighton Denny work well for me as even without a top coat they last really well for about 4 days before the very edge of my nails start to wear away a little bit.

Of course I couldn't talk about my nails without talking about how awfully dry my hands are because lets not forget that my line of work involves washing my hands a million times a shift so I couldn't be more excited to try more hand cream and something completely new to me.....a hand mask! I've been leaving the Best Defence hand cream on my bedside table so that I make sure I apply it at a minimum every morning and night. It's such a nourishing and lightweight hand cream, it literally melts into my hands and if I'm having a really bad day with my hands I'll apply a thicker layer on and apply some cotton gloves (I got mine at Home Bargains) and sleep with them on overnight. Having dry, sore skin and puppy scratches I'm really impressed that this doesn't sting my skin and has a really nice, subtle scent. I think I was most excited to try out the Rejuvenate hand mask as I'm a bit fan of face masks so you know a hand mask is going to be perfect for me. These hand masks are filled with vitamin E, Shea butter, honey and macadamia seed oil so they are perfect to nourish and rehydrate my poor over worked hands. I'm definitely going to have to pick up a few so I can have a pamper every week with them.
