January Favorites

I can't believe that we're already at the end of January, I feel like this month has completely flown by (and I fear this year might do the same as well!). With the end of the month comes another monthly favourite blog post and with the start of the new year I've been trying to get into better routines so I thought I'd share with you all some of my favourite things this month.

Inspired Stories Diary ~ I switched up my diary this year to the Inspired Stories Diary because I wanted one that I can take on the go with me again and mainly because I missed having it in 2019. I love that not only is it compact but it's got space for weekly and monthly planning whilst also having weekly and monthly reflections as well as sections for the things I most need to do in the upcoming week and space to track a couple of habits. Not only is it so useful for my life, nursing and my blog, it also looks so pretty which helps as I'm more likely to use it!

Dermalogica Nightly Lip Treatment ~ I've suffered horribly with dry lips for years especially in the winter and for the past two months I've been adding this Dermalogica Nightly Lip Treatment into my evening skincare routine and it's changed the condition of my lips in those two months. I find it really rich and nourishing, so it's perfect for me especially after I've been in work as end up finishing work with super dry lips and this makes it seem like my lips ever had a problem by the next morning.

Dermalogica Redness Relief Essence ~ For the past two months I've added the Redness Relief Essence into my skincare routine and I feel like it's helped so much with the redness that I get onto my cheeks. I find it really lightweight and I pop it on before my serum morning and night and I find it has really helped me with the irritation and redness I get when my skin gets dehydrated during the winter and my long shifts in work. If I've got a bit more time to do my skincare routine, I pop this on and use my jade roller to massage it in.

Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance ~ I've suffered so much with really dry skin since I was a teenager and began getting spots and I've struggled to find products that help combat it. I have previously tried out the Skin Smoothing Cream from Dermalogica and whilst that was fabulous as we came into winter, I found that my dry skin couldn't be kept at bay and I had to resort to a more intensive moisturiser, the Intensive Moisture Balance. I like that it's really rich and keeps my skin hydrated without feeling heavy and sitting on my skin. Sometimes I get a bit girl lazy and don't do my skincare routine as often I'm supposed to and I still find that this keeps my skin moisturised for longer than just the day I put it on!

The Big Bottle Co Water Bottle ~ One of my 2020 goals was to take better care of myself and one of the ways that I'm doing that is making sure that I drink enough water to keep myself hydrated. I am that type of person that if I fill up a water bottle I will drink it but then never go and fill it up again but I will get a million other different drinks, around New Year I found this water bottle in TK Maxx and I felt like it would be perfect for me as it's a 2.2L water bottle so even if I filled it up once during the day I'm still getting my 2L of water in the day.

Lush Cookie Dough Scrub ~ I got this body scrub back in December when it came out with the Christmas collection and I'm so gutted that it's no longer as round so I'm going to have to make this body scrub last for as long as possible whilst praying that Lush decide to bring it back in the year-round collection. Not only does it smell incredible but it leaves my skin feeling so smooth. I'll use this when I'm having a proper pamper night and then slather on a body butter before bed and my skin feels so good.

Helping Hands Hand Cream ~ I am a nurse, I wash my hands and use hand sanitiser a million times during a shift so I ended up with really dry hands that can end up sore, cracked sometimes even bleeding so this year I've tried to take better care of my hands. I've gotten into always have a tube of hand cream with me, especially at work and then in the morning before bed, I lather this Helping Hands hand cream on. I love that it's nice and thick enough to protect and hydrate my skin but it melts into my skin so quickly and doesn't leave my hands greasy. I just wish that they had a version that was in different packaging as I can't really take the tub onto the unit because it's too big but I would like a refillable tube/pump package that I can keep in my scrub pocket at work to use on to go.

Sleepy Body Lotion ~ One of my 2020 goals this year was to get better at having a bedtime routine and the Sleepy body lotion has been a brilliant part of getting into a better bedtime routine. It's filled with lavender, oat milk, tonka and cocoa butter so not only am I left with really soft skin but also helps to calm and relax my mind so I can start winding down for the night and get a good nights sleep.
