Top 5 Winter Lip Colours

Danielle Levy, Top Winter Lip Colours, beauty blogger, Armani, Clarins, Charlotte Tilbury, Wirral blogger, Liverpool blogger.

I'm carrying on the Winter vibes and wanted to feature some more beauty on my blog by sharing my top 5 winter lip colours that I've been wearing this year. I have a big drawer filled to the brim with different lip colours and I use a range of drugstore and luxury lip colours so you can imagine how difficult it was to choose my top 5 cause I am normally always switching up lip colours so finding my top 5 was so incredibly hard.

I'm so thankful that from blogging I've been introduced to a wide variety of brands and I've been able to find the ones that work perfectly for me. My top 5 are mainly higher ends ones from some of my all-time favourite brands, I've also got a selection of lip products from tinted lip balm in lipgloss and lip balm form as well liquid lipsticks, lip stain and bullet lipsticks.

The Armani Ecstasy Shine lipstick may be labelled a lipstick but it's more like a luxurious tinted lip balm that gives you the pigment of a lipstick whilst hydrating and soothing your lips like a balm. I've been loving the shade 601 which is a gorgeous rich plum colour. I've found my lips have been really dry this year with the cold weather, not drinking enough water and all the heating and this has been helping to soothe my lips whilst giving me a nice colour without drying them out even further when I'm wearing a full face of makeup.

I'm a big fan of berry colours all year round especially in the winter and even though I've had really dry lips, I've been loving using the Armani Lip Magnet in 603 underneath a really hydrating lip balm as an alternative lip colour. I've found that because the Lip Magnet is a really light liquid lipstick it acts more like a stain so I can put it on once in the morning and just re-up my lip balm to keep my lips hydrated. The shade 603 is a nice plum colour that you can layer up to be a really dark colour or you can give yourself a light wash of colour. I also love the applicator of the Lip Magnets as it's got the perfect triangle applicator so you can get that perfect line without needing to wear lip liner.

One of the first higher-end makeup brands I was introduced to was Charlotte Tilbury and their lipsticks still hold a special place in my makeup. I've been loving the Bond Girl lipstick which is a matte berry bullet lipstick which also smells amazing. I've found that even though it's a matte lipstick, it doesn't dry my lips out completely and gives my lips a subtle glow that lasts for most of the day. I'm bad with not using lip liner so I'm lucky that this bullet lipstick doesn't smudge or bleed so after a day of wear it fades out to a nice berry lip stain.

I'm really am awful for re-upping my lipsticks during the day, even if I bring it with me I never end up re-applying it so I'm a huge fan of the Armani Lip Maestro in 501. It's the perfect my lips but better colour and it a soft matte formula so it doesn't dry down and make your lips dryer than the Sahara desert! It's a non-sticky liquid lipstick so I don't have to worry about my hair getting all stuck up in my lip products. The applicator is a slim pointed applicator so even I can quickly and easily apply it and have lined lips with it!

In 2019, I was introduced to Clarins makeup and this Autumn I fell in love with the autumn editions of Natural Lip Perfectors, I mean if the Duchess of Cambridge loves them who am I to disagree?! One of the shades I've been wearing all Autumn is shade 18 which is a lovely deep red colour and performs a bit like thicker tinted lip balm. Since I was introduced to the lip perfectors back in about September, I always have one of them in my every handbag I'm carrying. Even the deep colours are super easy to slap it on without a mirror and have a pretty much perfect application.

What's your favourite lip colours this winter?
