Out of all the beauty products in my routine, I can definitely say that lip products are by far one of my favourites. From formula to the colour to the design whether it be liquid, a bullet, a tinted lip balm, there are just so many options and you can reinvent your look time and time again with simply a different lip colour. At the end of September, I was kindly invited into the Illamasqua counter at the Trafford Centre to come try out the latest addition to the lip game, the new Loaded Lip Polish's!

Now I am a true 90's babe at heart and I'm all about that glossy lip look but I've found over the past couple of years that it seems to have fallen out of fashion with the introduction of matte liquid lipsticks. I find that having a glossy lip really does hide a multitude of sins, messed up your liner - throw a gloss on, dry lips - add a gloss on top, want your lips to look slightly bigger without surgically enhancing them - add some gloss!

The lovely Billie-Jo invited me into my local counter in the Trafford Centre to come try out Illamasqua and the new Loaded Lip Polish. I remember there used to be an Illamasqua store in the Met Quarter in Liverpool but one day it just disappeared and I don't think there's any department stores near me that have any of their counters in so I was really excited to be able to go and check out the latest launch at the Trafford Centre (and shock horror I've never been to the Trafford Centre before)!

In 2019, Illamasqua has given lipgloss a comeback and have reinvented the lipgloss game. These new lip glosses don't smear and stick to everything and they actually care for your lips as well. The new Loaded Lip Polish comes in 14 different shades so there is a colour for everyone, there's even a clear shade to add on top of your favourite lip colour! They contain sweet almond oil and vitamin E to nourish your lips whilst still giving you gorgeous, glossy lips.

The lovely Ines gave me an introduction to Illamasqua and gave me a makeover, I gave her complete free reign to do whatever look she fancied and she killed it! To combat my awfully dry skin and give me a flawless base, she used the Hydra Veil primer to give me some added moisture whilst locking in my base to last all day and topped it with the Skin Base foundation which was pale enough for my pale skin but lightweight enough that I can still let my skin breath whilst getting the full coverage base I love. To create the amazing eye look, Ines used the latest palette launch from Illamasqua, the Expressionist Artistry palette. I have never worn a blue look on my eyes and I'm in love with it, it was so outside my makeup comfort zone but I loved the way it turned out.

The most exciting part of the makeover, testing out the Loaded Lip Polish! Ines told me that new lip polish's can be used with a lip liner, on their own or with your favourite lip product and one of the best parts....you can mix the colours together to make even more colours! To complement the eye look, Ines mixed Rise and Flaunt together which lightened the look and gave me a gorgeous glossy look, perfect for a day of shopping. I was really impressed that I managed to wear my hair down for the full day and didn't get it all stuck to my lipgloss once and when I took my makeup off at the end of the day my lips still felt nice and hydrated.

Overall I'm really impressed on how well the Loaded Lip Polish's performed, I ended up taking home the shade Rise which is a gorgeous deep raspberry pink colour but I'm really tempted to go back and get the clear lipgloss so I can pair them with some of my favourite lip colours.

Are you happy the gloss is back?

Speak to you next time!
