New Menu Launches At Yee Rah

Danielle Levy, Yee Rah, Yee Rah Liverpool One, Liverpool One, food blogger, Wirral blogger, Liverpool blogger,

I'm always on the hunt for great places to eat in town so I love being invited in to try out new menu launches in town. I've visited Yee Rah a fair few times in the past and it's a great place to go for a mid-shopping lunch trip, for a pre-theatre dinner or even to go for a couple of cocktails with the girls. Recently, I was invited in to try out the new additions to their menu and share them with all of you!

Back in the middle of July, the folks at Yee Rah added a bunch of new dishes to their already extensive menu to give you even more choice when you visit. Some of the new launches include a charcoal bun burger and Belgian waffles for dessert, as well as new additions to the starters and main course menus. I headed along to the top of L1 with the wonderful Laura to check out these new additions because well we all know that I tend to eat like a 5-year-old especially when in restuarants.

To kick off the afternoon we decided to check out the non-alcoholic side of the drinks menu (because I drove and Laura is trying to have an alcohol free time ahead of her holidays) and I was shocked at how delicious and refreshing they are! We went for the Watermelon Punch (watermelon, lychee, passionfruit & white peach) and Melon Refresher (melon, strawberry, mango & apple juice), these were so delicious that we wolfed them down and ordered them again to have with our meals. I think they make a great swap out if you don't want to have a drink with your meal and you don't just want to have a fizzy drink or you want a refreshing drink for a change.

For starters, we went for the satay chicken skewers and fried halloumi from the small plates menu. At the minute in their lunch menu, you can get 2 courses for £11.95 or 3 courses for £12.95. Alongside all of that, we tried out the new Mediterranean sharing platter which includes a mini Caprese salad chock full of heritage tomatoes, olives, garlic dough balls, crudities and some yummy dips. We loved the small plates menu, it's perfect for ordering a bunch of plates whilst you're having a couple of drinks with friends for you all to share for a tapas dinner with drinks.

Guys, you should all be proud of me, for my main I went a little bit more outside my comfort zone and actually ordered sweet & sour chicken for my main (dishes like this I usually make myself at home so that I know exactly what goes into it), it was amazing and huge! Me and my small stomach struggled to eat it all so I had to take some of it back home with me. Laura decided to go for the traditional papaya salad with added chicken which looked amazing but it was WAY too spicy for me (I'm a wimp when it comes to spice!). I'm dying to head back to try out the new charcoal burger bun and ribs, someone next to us did order the ribs just as we were finishing up and looked/smelled so good. It gave me serious food envy!

As we were almost stuffed to bursting we decided to share a dessert because we were both dying to try out the new addition to the dessert menu.....the Belgian vanilla waffles. The waffles were so good, myself and Laura said that we weren't going to be able to eat them but they were devoured within minutes! I would definitely recommend you try them out (even if you share them like we did) with a cocktail to finish off your meal.

Have you visited Yee Rah in L1 yet?

Speak to you next time!
