Battle of the Beauty Boxes: July Edition

Danielle Levy, battle of the beauty boxes, Roccabox, Birchbox, Pixi beauty, Glamglow, Percy and Reed, Liverpool blogger, Wirral blogger,

I'm still in complete shock at how quickly the months are passing by! I'm already up to the July edition of Battle of the Beauty Boxes and I'm really loving having more of a consistent series on my blog (here's hoping I keep it up!). My July has been a real mixture weather-wise already, we've had a mixture of rain, sun and humidity so these beauty subscription boxes couldn't have come at a better time, I'm desperately in need to a pamper day!

Roccabox
This month's Roccabox is all about throwing out the horrible weather we've been having and feeling a bit more summery and they've even included some of their favourite travel essentials. I'm quite excited as I actually know 90% of the brands that are included in this month's box.

In this month's box:
  • Merci Handy Refreshing Face Mist
  • Beauty Pro Nourishing Collagen Sheet Mask
  • Grow Gorgeous Rescue & Repair Duo
  • Pixi Beauty Shea Butter Lip Balm in Natural Rose
  • Afterspa Makeup Remover
  • DAME Organic Tampon Sample
I am a huge fan of facial mists at the minute (I mean who isn't with this humidity?!) so I was really excited to see this one from Merci Handy, this can be used at any time from after a workout to when you're melting on the way home. I was also really excited to see a shampoo and conditioner set from Grow Gorgeous, I'm always on the hunt to find my favourite nourishing shampoo & conditioner so I'm excited to put these ones to the test.

Two of the things in the box that I'm not a huge fan of are the Afterspa makeup remover, mainly because I've gotten about four of these now from various beauty subscription boxes and goody bags so I don't need another and tbh I've never used the ones I've got so they're all going to my mum because she has sensitive skin and can end up with swollen eyes if she uses a product that doesn't agree with her skin so these are perfect for her as they're a product-free makeup remover that you can just chuck in the washing machine and wash once used. I'm also not a fan of the Pixi lip balm I received, I've tried a couple of Pixi products and actually like some but I'm really fussy with my lip balms and this one was way too waxy for me and just felt like it sat on top of my lips.

Birchbox
This month's Birchbox is all about unicorns, being bold, bright and unique and to help you celebrate you being you! Although one of the items in my box did come shattered (which they are replacing), I was really excited to see products from Glamglow and This Works in this month's box.

In this month's box:
  • Floss Beauty Eyeshadow in Tokyo
  • Marcelle Xtension Plus Curl Mascara
  • GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Mask Treatment
  • This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray
  • Percy & Reed Eau My Goodness Shine & Fragrance Spray
I was super excited to see GlamGlow in this month's box, they’ve always been a brand that I’ve wanted to try but they’ve been just out of reach. I hear everyone rave about them so I’m interested to see how this one works, although it does have a really strong liquorice scent which I feel like I might struggle to get past! I am really excited for the This Works pillow spray because I have don't have a consistent sleep pattern thanks to shift work so I live for these pillow sprays! I'm really not happy to see another mascara sample because I don't really need another mascara sample as I've already got WAY too many tubes of mascara but I'm sure my mum will like it!

Winner
I think that my winner this month has got to be.....Birchbox. It was very almost a draw but Birchbox just managed to win it for me. The pillow spray and hair product were my winners from the box, I loved that they've included a travel size from GlamGlow as I've been dying to use them for ages but I don't know if I can get past the smell of this one!

Who's your winner, Roccabox or Birchbox?

Speak to you next time!
