I've been living just outside of Liverpool for over 10 years and I've seen it grow from strength to strength with so many amazing businesses opening up. As you all know that I am probably one of the fussiest eaters going (think fussy child) so trying new restaurants can be a nervous time but I love finding somewhere new that I enjoy. Last week I took a trip to Bistro Franc to try out their lunch menu with some amazing Liverpool bloggers.
Bistro Franc is located just on the outskirts of Liverpool One making it the perfect stop for after shopping trips or somewhere for dinner before going out with friends and family. Tucked away behind Liverpool One, it's filled with wooden chairs and tables, exposed brick and French style decorations. It's your little slice of France in the middle of Liverpool!
Last week, I headed into Liverpool One in the gorgeous sunny weather and met up with the amazing Laura to check out the new lunch menu. You can get the 'Lunch Rapide' menu between 11.45am-4.30pm for only £8.50 for 1 course, £10.90 for 2 courses or £11.90 for 3 courses. Both myself and Laura are following Slimming World (one of us following it much better than the other) so we whilst tried to pick options that would work for that, we also decided to go for 2 courses, Laura having a starter and a main and for me who forever has a sweet tooth I decided to go for a main and dessert.
Whilst waiting for Laura's starter which came really quickly, we got the chance to have a good catch up over a diet coke and talk about all things blogging. While I might not be a salad girl, not going to lie Laura's starter of a salad of tomatoes, feta cheese and olives did look surprisingly refreshing and according to Laura it also tasted delicious. Being the super fussy eater that I am, I decided to try out linguine pasta with chicken, tomato and Parmesan with a side of garlic croute. My word this pasta was amazing and writing this now I want to go back for another bowl! Although it looks like a smallish bowl of pasta, it genuinely felt like a never ending bowl of pasta and chicken, it was surprisingly filling.
Well it'd be rude to come to a French restaurant and not get the Creme Brulee and a cocktail for dessert. While I do have a sweet tooth, I can only have so much sweet stuff before it just gets to me too much for me. Luckily the Creme Brulee was the perfect size, it was just big enough for me to satisfy my sweet tooth but not too big that I felt sick after my 2 courses. I also got the Pink Lady cocktail on the side which was a gin based cocktail, it was lovely and refreshing. I feel like it is the type of cocktail you could enjoy whilst sat outside in the sun with friends.
I had such a great time trying out the lunch menu at Bistro Franc, I was surprised how much there was on the menu that I actually liked the sound of and would try. I would highly recommend heading there to try the out the linguine pasta and cocktail if nothing else! I can definitely see it being a staple in my family as it seems the perfect place to come for dinner after a day in town but also somewhere that we can come for special occasions and celebrations.
Have you been to Bistro Franc before?
Speak to you next time!
