It's been a little while since I posted a blog post about The Body Shop or one of their blogger events, I seem to always be in work whenever the events take place. Thankfully the lovely Ryan offered to let me come in on my day off to check out the new launches for The Body Shop this Spring.

This Spring one of their big launches is the new additions to the shea butter range, the range contains their first ever Community Trade ingredient shea which is made by wonderful women in Northern Ghana. The money that they earn from working for The Body Shop allows them to be able to send their daughters as well as their sons to school. Shea butter has been used by Ghanian women for generations to hydrate and protect their skin and hair. They also told me that it takes a woman 2 days to create each pack of shea.

I was so gutted that I missed the event as they had the folks from Wagamamas there with some new Vegan dishes for everyone to try, Ryan luckily offered to let me come in and check out the all the new bits they demo'd on the evening. Unfortunately, when I got to the store there had been a bit of confusion and it hadn't been booked in but luckily they managed to fit me in and show me the new launches and even make my own sugar lip scrub.

The main additions to the shea range is the new hair care range, they have also included a product that is completely new for them. For the past couple of months I've noticed that my scalp has become dryer and dryer and my hair has begun to look even finer (any tips for me please leave them in a comment below) so the new shea hair care range seems right up my alley as the new shampoo, conditioner and hair mask are made for dry hair that is prone to breakage. It is gently cleansing whilst being hydrating to give you healthier and replenished locks with less breakage, it also smells amazing too! They have also started selling solid shea butter and a little bit goes a long way, it can be used as an intensive moisturiser, a lip scrub when combined with sugar, overnight hair treatment, bath melt, bath bomb and body scrub.

Whilst I was there I got an amazing hand and arm massage that left my super dry nurse skin really soft. I also got the chance to try out some new launches that will be coming into stores soon, the cactus blossom body butter and white musk flora scent. I also picked up one of their rose water facial mists for my work locker, whilst they come in several different scents I decided to go for the rose scent because well to me it smelt the best but it also gives you a dewy glow and left me feeling refreshed after I spritzed it in store which is perfect for me as I want to keep it in my locker so when I start flagging towards the end of my shift I can spritz myself with this and perk myself back up!

I ended up coming away with some samples of the new hair care range and also some of the ginger shampoo as I have bought too many shampoos and conditioners that have made my hair feel amazing but not made massive differences to my scalp so I asked them if I could have a little sample to test out at home before I bought the full bottle (you seriously don't wanna see how much half used shampoo and conditioner I have in my bathroom!), so I'll report back once I've tested them out with how I got on.

What do you think of the new launches?

Speak to you next time!
