Galentine's Day With Roccabox

Danielle Levy, Roccabox, Charles Worthington, St Tropez, Sanctuary Spa, Lovely perfume, sarah jessica parker, beauty blogger, Liverpool blogger, Wirral blogger,

As yet another Valentine's day goes by and I'm single, I've focused less on Valentine's and more on Galentine's, making it a day to practice self-love and celebrate myself and some amazingly strong women I know. The February version of Roccabox is filled with things to help you get ready for February 14th, whether you're spending it with your girls or you're spending it with your partner.

With the start of 2019, not only are Roccabox upping their subscription box game but they are also trying to make their company as green as possible. This month launches the new 100% recyclable boxes which are a beautiful blush pink colour (my favourite colour!) and come all as one piece instead of the usual box and lid. I love that inside this month's box the quote on the lid is 'Make yourself a priority' which couldn't be more apt for Galentine's if they tried!

The first thing that stood out to me in this month's box is the Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce shampoo & conditioner set. I have ridiculously fine hair so I'm always on the hunt for the perfect lightweight products that help to add volume back into my hair.  It is supposed to be a super light formula that removes impurities and product build-ups that can leave your hair looking flat. It also has collagen in to help your hair feel thicker and fuller, it's got such a yummy fruity scent which of course makes all the difference when it comes to hair products!

Roccabox have also included two products from St Tropez this month, whilst I don't really fake tan because A: I'm ridiculously fair so having any ounce of a tan looks really odd and B: I'm completely rubbish at fake tanning (which I think is impressive considering that I used to be a Ballroom/Latin American dancer and if you didn't know fake tan comes with the territory). First up is Velvet Luxe applicator mitt which I might actually keep hold of because I occasionally use a tinted body moisturiser in the summer to give my legs a bit of colour (they're even paler than my arms and face!) and I hate the brown palms that come along with it so this is perfect. They've also included a 24ml sample of the Purity Bronzing Water gel which surprisingly has a really nice tropical floral scent.......no biscuit scent here! The clear gel is supposed to develop into a natural, golden tan in just 3 hours and it doesn't need to be washed off. It's also supposed to hydrate your skin for 72 hours. I really like that this is only a small sample so I can give it a test out and if I don't like it I'm not stuck with a huge bottle of fake tan! I'm not going to lie, this wins in scent hands down.

I remember these plumping lip glosses from way back in high school when everyone and their mother used one. This one is the Cougar Perfect Pout lip gloss which contains Volulip which apparently mimics what hyaluronic acid injections do. For me, this has a really strong medical, almost TCP scent and I can't say it was massively plumping or had a really bad tingling sensation. For me, the scent is the thing that I just can't get past, like even when you put it on the scent just lingers (especially compared to other bad smelling products where the smell dissipates not long after you apply it!), I also noticed that it left my lips feeling very dry after I took it off.

The last couple of bits in the box smell amazing! First up is a little perfume sample of the Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely perfume (yes I know a perfume sample is a perfume sample but at least it was a little spritzer rather than the little foils things and we also got 6 other items in the box, it's normally 5 items per box), this smells really nice, classy and feminine. It has notes of bergamot, patchouli, orchid, amber and musk. Lastly is the Sanctuary Spa Wet Skin Moisture Miracle which really intrigues me as it's a body moisturiser that you put on in the shower on wet skin but it's much fast absorbing and quicker to use than traditional body lotion. This lotion is much thinner and liquider than traditional body lotions which explains why it absorbs a lot faster than normal. It's infused with apricot and avocado oil which gives it a lovely subtle scent. Although the scent is not for me, I prefer more fruity/floral scents but I think this will be perfect for my mum (she is known for rarely ever applying a body butter or body lotion on after a shower).

What's your favourite in this month's box?

Speak to you next time!
