I think it's time for me to admit I'm a bit of a makeup addict, whilst I have some favourite brands that I go back to time and time again, I love finding new brands to try out. This time I finally got the chance to try out Make Up For Ever at my local counter in Liverpool One.

I was invited in to my local counter by the lovely Lianne to discover Make Up For Ever and see what I thought of their cult products. I first found out about Make Up For Ever back when I got into beauty videos on YouTube as a teenager, I remember all the American YouTubers raving about their products and I remember being gutted that I couldn't get my hands on them so I was super excited to finally be able to try out for myself!

Make Up For Ever has been around since the early 1980s, since then they have created amazing products for makeup artists, performers and makeup fans. Their philosophy revolves around 'Life is a Stage!', they encourage people to be as colourful and creative as they want to with their makeup.

For me, I have known about Make Up For Ever for their bases, especially the Ultra HD liquid foundation. We decided to go for a glowing, hydrated base that covered some of my problem areas whilst still letting my skin breathe and show through. I loved trying out their Step 1 primers, particularly the hydrating one. It helped to smooth and even out my skin whilst seriously hydrating my chronically dehydrated skin, the primers just melted straight into my skin and it instantly felt hydrated after applying. For foundation, we blended the Ultra HD stick foundation from the middle of my face outwards to even out my skin tone and give me some much needed coverage under my eyes and over redness around my nose and spots on my chin.

Seen as it was the festive period and I tend to stick with the couple of looks that I know, so we decided to go for a look that was a bit more out there and sparkly. For most of the look, we tried out their Star Lit palette (which I think has now unfortunately sold out). I am so glad that I picked up this palette whilst it was still in stock cause it is gorgeous and you even get some different looks cards which you can actually put over the palette and it has specially cut out sections for the different colours you need to create the looks. To give it some sparkle we added the new Star Lit diamond powder in 108 for the spotlight eye effect. Lianne pushed me out of my comfort zone when it came to finishing the eye look, she topped it off with PINK eyeliner in my waterline.

I can't wait to play with my new palette and get so creative with some new looks that push me out of my makeup comfort zone and make my life more of a stage! I need to take a trip back to my local counter for some more of the base products because I loved the light, glowing skin.
