First Time At YSL Liverpool

YSL has been a beauty brand that I have lusted after since I read my first beauty blog post and watched my first youtube video. It was around the time that everyone was raving about the Rouge Volupte lipsticks and I think pretty much every blogger/vlogger had about 3/4. I don't know why it's taken me till I'm 25 to finally try YSL beauty out!

I was so excited when the lovely ladies at YSL Liverpool invited me in to try out the products and have a makeover at their counter in the Harvey Nics Beauty Bazaar. I nipped in the morning of the Dirty Little Secret event because I really wanted to give the makeup a good test run and first impressions and it was such a fun morning and I left wanting so many products.

After meeting Sam (my blogger bestie and photographer for the morning), we headed down towards Harvey Nics. I was desperately in need of coffee (hence the awful skin and some of the really bad faces pulled) but I was excited to try out a new brand. Before I went I think the most I'd ever tried from YSL is a sample of the Shock waterproof mascara that I think I got in one of my beauty advent calendars in December and their perfumes.

The lovely Helen spent the time at the beginning of my makeover talking to me, asking how I liked my makeup, what I was doing with the rest of my day, what event I was having my makeup done for and what looks/colours I was interested in having done. Whilst we were talking I noticed some advertisements for the new All Hours full coverage foundation and knew I had to try it out (I may have even made a sneaky purchase at the end!). I also got the chance to try out the beautiful Touche Eclat Blur primer if you haven't seen this yet, it's clear primer with gold flakes inside to give you incredible glowing skin as well as evening out the skin and helping your foundation last longer.

As I was going to the Dirty Little Secret launch that evening, we decided to go for a neutral/gold smokey eye with glowing skin and deep lip colour. I'm either a neutral pink type of girl or a dark berry/red type of girl and I'm a massive fan of liquid lipsticks so I decided to put YSL's to the test! I went for a deep berry called Violet Conviction which I'm loving it, from wearing it all day I've fallen in love. It didn't dry my lips out but dried down so that it wasn't smudging on everything and I'm loving the colour range.

I couldn't leave without picking up a couple of goodies, I decided to go for the All Hours foundation and concealer as I loved the end result and I really want to do a review and first impressions on it. I also had to pick up the Tatouage Couture Matte Stain in Violet Conviction. I was all ready to leave Harvey Nics and Sam took me over to fragrance section to show me the Kilian perfumes and I managed to spot a YSL Mon Paris gift set in the sale from Christmas and picked it up as a little birthday present from me to me (I'm a fan of YSL fragrances so I've been eyeing the Mon Paris perfume since it came out so I was really happy to see it in the sale!).

Have you tried anything from YSL before?

Speak to you next time!
