Beauty Advent Calendars

look fantastic beauty advent calendar christmas

Last year I dipped my toes into beauty advent calendars for the first time with The Body Shop advent calendar. This year, I have gone head first into different beauty, skincare and tea-related advent calendars and have 9 advent calendars to share with you all!

the body shop advent calendar christmas

I couldn't do an advent calendar blog post without featuring The Body Shop's iconic advent calendars! This year they have brought back the three different advent calendars with three different price points, from £45 to £99. The Body Shop are well known for not having advent calendars filled with small sample sized products or foil packets. I picked up the 25 Days Ultimate advent calendar which retails for £99 but is worth over £200 and comes with 17 full sized products. The other 8 products that aren't full sized are the travel sized products that are 30-60ml so decent travel-sized products that are all under £10 each!

selfridge's beauty perfume advent calendar christmas

I haven't seen too many people talking about the L'Oreal Luxe advent calendar from Selfridge's. It's another 24 day advent calendar, so no treat on Christmas day but you do get 24 supposedly cult beauty products from Lancome, Urban Decay, YSL, Victor and Rolf and Kiehl's. I love that this one is a mixture of makeup, skincare and fragrances. Although it feels like the majority of the products included are Lancome with 13 products from Lancome and the remaining 11 products from the other four brands. This one is a bit more luxe in price at £120 for a bunch of travel sized products from more luxury brands.

look fantastic beauty advent calendar christmas

If you haven't heard about the Look Fantastic advent calendar, have you been living under a rock?! I feel like I've heard about their advent calendar since September. This one is incredible and the production value is incredible for only £79!! You get 25 products in this calendar (p.s it would make the perfect makeup storage after you're finished using it or you could re-package it as an advent calendar for someone with all the things they love inside), 9 full sized products and 16 travel sized products. They also have a ton of Look Fantastic exclusives inside and have also included a full-sized Illamasqua lipstick (worth £20 people)!

bluebird tea company tea advent calendar christmas

Now I know this one isn't a beauty advent calendar but it is incredible! I am a complete tea addict so I am all about the Bluebird Tea Co Tea advent calendar. If you are a tea fan and have been living under a rock, you need this tea advent calendar in your life! What is better than tea every day, particularly Christmas themed tea?! They've even included some advent calendar exclusive teas that you can't buy individually this year. This year you get 16 days of tea bags and 8 days of tea related gifts for only £36.

soap and glory advent calendar christmas

Soap & Glory is my go-to brand around Christmas, they do incredible gift sets at Christmas and just products in general so I was really happy to see them release an advent calendar this year. This is another 24-day advent calendar that comes with 24 bath and shower products, makeup items and accessories for only £40. To make it even better Boots have included this advent calendar in their 3 for 2 Christmas offer so you can treat everyone else for Christmas then treat yourself! This is mostly filled with travel-sized miniatures, however, you do get a full sized thick and fast mascara. I kind of feel that having miniature bath and shower products are perfect around Christmas because you normally always get smellies for Christmas!

yankee candle advent calendar christmas

Every year Yankee candle seems to have a million different advent calendars, I think mainly because I think they do store exclusives. I have seen a couple that aren't on their website and are only in Clinton's or Boots. However, I do love getting the ones from their website as they are 10 times prettier! Last year I decided to get the carousel style calendar and this year I decided to pick up the book style advent calendar that comes with a combination of tealights and votives, so you get a good mixture. You can also get your hands on some of the new Christmas scents for 2017. Their calendars this year are ranging from £20-34.99 for 24 Yankee candles!

tanya burr advent calendar christmas

Tanya Burr is someone whose products have never failed to impress me, I am a big fan of her nail polishes and lip colours. This year she has brought out her own 12 Sweet Days advent calendar which is only £20 at the moment (it's normally £30). I feel like this advent calendar is perfect for those makeup addicts that don't want to spend loads of an advent calendar this year, it's also perfect for the teenagers/young adults in your family. Inside you get a combination of lip glosses, nail polishes, glitter liners and glitter eyeshadow pots. So all the sparkle that is perfect for the festive season!

bloom perfume advent calendar christmas

Since I started looking at advent calendars this year, this one has constantly caught my eye every time I've been on the Superdrug website or into their stores. This Bloom advent calendar (which is currently sold out online but is still in some stores) contains 12 days of miniature perfume bottles in a beautiful calendar for £24 (it was £12 when I picked this one up). I feel like this is a gorgeous one to have out on display. Inside you get 12 x 8ml bottles of Bloom perfume in a variety of scents, all of the names remind me so much of Jo Malone perfumes. You could get this for someone (or yourself) and have a perfume for every month of 2018!

Zoella lifestyle advent calendar christmas

Now everyone has expressed their disappointment with this advent calendar and that is why I have actually left it until dead last. I do like some the products that Zoella has launched, particularly her Christmas range with Superdrug. I have noticed that there are significant differences in price points between her range with Superdrug and her range with Boots which is the only thing I can suggest for why this advent calendar is so overpriced and that is due to the price point that Boots has given it. This massive (it's not small for a 12 days advent calendar) advent calendar is £50 (reduced down to £25 yesterday) from Boots and is suppose to be an exclusive collection of home and lifestyle products. Inside you get a Christmas bauble, stickers, glitter, cookie cutters, among other things. Basically, it's all reasonably low-priced items to buy individually that do not tally up to £50. The most luxe items in the advent calendar are the miniature candles and the room spray. For me, it's just not worth it and I understand that some things like pricing might be out of Zoella's control so that is the fault of Boots that they should fix. This one is actually going to go to my cousin who loves watching youtube and is more interested in things like this than me.

My top picks for 2017 are definitely Look Fantastic, Bluebird Tea Co, Selfridges and Yankee Candle!

What beauty advent calendars have you picked up this year?

Speak to you next time!

  1. I came so so close to buying the Look Fantastic one, I mean that packaging is just to die for, I kind wanted it for that alone, it would make great storage but I just don't have the room for it! Love the look of the tea calendar too, that is right up my street!
