Spring #CarnLIVal

Liverpool Bloggers, CarnLIVal

You might remember just before Christmas 2016, I went to a fabulous event planned by the gorgeous Katy and Sammy which you can read all about here. Well, these amazing ladies decided to host another CarnLIVal this spring and they smashed it out the park!

As usual, whenever Katy and Sammy have an event it is infamous on twitter with everyone buzzing with excitement of who's coming, what they're wearing and what brands will be involved. I was really excited in the run up to #CarnLIVal as I knew my blogger squad was going to be there, if you haven't checked them out, go now (Sam, Kayleigh, Sarah, Sammy, Katy, Jess, Hollie, Antonia & Lyd)!

The event was held at the beautiful Hope Street Hotel, which considering I had my graduation ceremony at the Philharmonic, I had no idea it was there! It's sandwiched between the two cathedrals on Hope street with amazing panoramic views, it's in the top 2 for the best views in Liverpool (and I can vouch for that!). From their fifth-floor conference room (with floor to ceiling windows), you can see everything from the football stadiums to the Docks, both cathedrals and even seeing as far as Wales. I think everyone that attended got amazing pictures out on their terraces (some even with balloons). The lovely people at the hotel kindly put on a tour for us which let us see a bit more of the rooms, including the penthouse. As we travelled round the hotel, we were told how it actually used to be two buildings that were combined together and they are currently planning to expand even more to include even more rooms and a spa. How amazing would that be for bridal parties or for a girly weekend away?! All of the rooms either have a wooden or brick style with some being rustic and some having a more rustic style. I fell in love with room 406 which included a wooden free standing bath and exposed beams.

DermaV10, CarnLIVAL

Similar to the last #CarnLIVal, Katy and Sammy brought back the Naughty & Nice bags which for 50p you could win some great prizes. Last time everyone went mental these bags and this time was no different! I think I ended up spending about £4 in total and I came away with some amazing prizes, from the naughty bag I came away with two vibrators (one of which Sam was very annoyed that I'd won) and from the nice bag I came away with sheet masks, a makeup bag, NYX liquid lipsticks and sweeties. The lovely ladies from DermaV10 came along to speak to everyone attending and introducing us to some of their new launches (the raspberry ripple body butters smell amazing, especially during the sunny weather!), they also kindly brought along goody bags of products for us to try and I cannot wait to dive into them.

Like the last event, Katy and Sammy thought of other people when organising the event. Before the event, they encouraged everyone to bring along sanitary products, toiletries and more to be donated to homeless shelters, local schools, women's shelters, youth clubs and the food bank. They also went above and beyond on the day and raised money for St Rocco's Hospice and Student Minds, as well as having a Go Fund Me page that people go donate to if they couldn't attend/or bring anything with them. We ended raised about £350 in total!! Katy and Sammy also worked their socks off organising some AMAZING raffle prizes, I love that their raffle was very organised and everyone got an egg when we first arrived which either had just a raffle ticket or a ticket and a little chick (those with the chicks actually won extra special prizes!), everyone got one ticket which made it nice and fair (there's always one person that buys 20 raffle tickets!). I managed to win a Nerd Block in the raffle which is a "Nerd & Geek" subscription box which my little brother is now happily enjoying.

Sammy and Katy went above and beyond for this event, everybody was raving about the event on the day and afterwards. I left with two huge goody bags (which will be featured in a youtube video as I've already written WAY too much!). I can't wait for their next CarnLIVal!

Speak to you next time!
