A Few Of My Favourite Things ~ March

march 2017 favourites

We're already a quarter of the way through 2017 and I'm yet to do a monthly favourites blog post, so I think it's about time I tell you all my favourites this month. I don't tend to do these types of posts every month, mainly because I'm a pretty boring blogger and tend to use the same products day in, day out. However this month, I've been pretty exciting (for me anyway) and have been trying out some new goodies that I've been loving.

Miss Dior Eau De Parfum

First up is the Miss Dior perfume, I have been lusting after this perfume for the best part of 6 months. I think the main thing that stopped me buying this initially was the price tag as when I first wanted it, I was still a poor student nurse and couldn't afford the £70 price tag, but since I became a staff nurse with an actual salary and not many outgoings (as of yet) I thought I'd pick it up. I love the scent of this with notes of jasmine, amber, (subtle) rose and patchouli, it's a gorgeous feminine, decadent scent. I seem to go through rotations of different perfumes and since I got this last month, I have been wearing it non-stop!

Essence Brown Sugar Allspice candle

I picked up these Essence candles from B&M before Christmas (yes it's taken me over 3 months to use them, to my defence I had LOADS of winter scented candles to use!). I think these candles actually did the rounds with bloggers before Christmas as dupes for the Bath & Body Works candles. I, of course picked up two scents, Brown Sugar Allspice and Radiant Red Maple to try out and I've been obsessed with them this month. I love that the candles contain two wicks so they burn equally (there's nothing worse than a candle burning straight through the middle!) and they fill my bedroom with scent!

Charlotte Tilbury magic cream and matte revolution lipstick in bond girl

As you may have seen from my latest blog post, I finally jumped on the Charlotte Tilbury bandwagon and I am obsessed with their products already. Whilst I was at their counter in Liverpool having a facial, I picked up the Magic Cream and the Matte Revolution lipstick in Bond Girl. I've been using the magic cream since my facial and I love the difference in my skin and how my makeup applies after using it. The lipstick comes in the iconic Charlotte Tilbury packaging, rose gold, ridged with the signature CT engraved on top. Bond girl is the perfect, chic berry colour (which I'm obsessed with year round!) that can be as sheer or bold as you wish in the unique bullet shape with a gorgeous vanilla scent. The luminous matte finish means you get the matte finish without your lips being dried to a crisp and a gorgeous, vibrant colour that lasts for hours.

Inside Vogue by Alexandra Shulman

I initially picked this book up for my gorgeous best friend Steph's birthday but after reading the blurb when it arrived before I shipped it to her, I decided that I needed to purchase it and add it to my must-read list. Now I'm not a book whiz like Hollie so I'm slowly but surely working my way through this one but it's all about Alexandra Shulman's year during Vogue's 100th year. I love that it's in a proper diary style, pictures included. I personally find that with it having the diary style, it makes it a much easier read.

No7 hydration mask

Lastly is the No7 Hydration mask, this was bought under heavy influence from Sam during a shopping trip! I picked it up as I had one of those £5 off vouchers that Boots seem to do every couple of months. As a critical care nurse, I have insanely dry skin as on our unit we do not have any proper windows and is completely heating and air-con led which as you can imagine is very bad for your skin. That it where this mask comes to my dry skin rescue, I use it in three different ways. I either use it as a quick burst of hydration after cleansing my face (only leaving it on for a few minutes), leaving it on as a hydration face mask for 10-15 minutes or as an intensive overnight face mask. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and moisturised, it's the perfect addition to my skincare routine.

What have been your favourite things during March?

Speak to you next time!

  1. The hydration mask sounds lovely! I love No7, such a fabulous brand! The air con in work kills my skin so this would be a nice treat!

    1. It's definitely worth a try Sarah, my skin has looked so much better since I started using it. I tend to use it as an overnight mask after doing my run of shifts in work to counteract all the air con xx
