Let's talk about skincare ~ April 2016

I thought it was about time to show you all my skincare routine. This is what I've been using at the moment which seems to be working for me. I am still hunting for my perfect products and routine, so whenever something runs out (say face wash) I tend to pick up something I've heard rave reviews about.

The aim of my skincare routine at the moment is to try and maintain my skin (e.g. not making it worse) and trying to keep it in the best possible condition! Now I'm not going to lie to you guys, I don't always follow it exactly and sometimes I will use my lazy version which is pretty much taking my makeup off and then putting moisturiser on before I dive into bed and pass out!

Morning Routine

Step 1 ~ I start with washing my face with the Soap & Glory Vitamin C facial wash, I love the smell of this. It's got a really nice fresh peach smell. It's so refreshing and definitely helps wake me up, especially at 5am!

Step 2 ~ I apply the Elizabeth Arden 8hr cream on my lips and any areas on my face that have gone really dry. I like to do step 1 and 2 first thing in the morning when I get up, then go and have a cup of tea and breakfast before continuing with the rest of my routine.

Step 3 ~ After breakfast I tap on my eye cream which is Balance's snake venom eye cream. I tap this in with my ring finger under my eye and put any remaining on my fingers on my eyelids. I also apply my Skin Therapy blemish serum to any problem areas, I love this as it feels like a thicker spot gel so I feel like it's doing more when I put on my problem areas. I let these two products sink in for a couple of minutes before I put my moisturiser on.

Step 4 ~ I pop on a layer of my Vitamin E moisturising day cream from Superdrug, my skin soaks this up and it makes a perfect base for my foundation!

Bedtime Routine

Step 1 ~ If I've worn makeup that day, I take it off with the Soap & Glory Peaches & Clean cleansing milk. This is similar to the LUSH ultrabland cleanser but with a peachy scent and smoother texture. I only need one pump to get my whole face of makeup off including eye makeup and Max Factor false lash effect mascara (and that bad boy is hard to get off!).

Step 2 ~ In the evening I do a more thorough cleanse to get any dirt or leftover makeup off my face. I use my Magnitone facial cleansing brush and Garnier pure active daily face wash. This cleansing brush is one of the sole reasons my skin has improved so much, it has a one minute timer for your whole face to ensure that you cleanse each part of your face. It also helps your cleanser gets deeper into your skin and combat any blemishes where they start!

Step 3 ~ Like in the morning I apply my eye cream and blemish serum.

Step 4 ~ My last step is to apply a layer of Superdrug naturally radiant renewing night cream which is so cooling when you apply it to your face. I always find my skin is so soft the next morning when I use this!

I've been loving using these skincare products but unfortunately I am getting to the point of needing to repurchase/start having a look for some new products to try. Suggestions below are greatly appreciated!
