Boutique of Molly ~ Arabelle Blazer

So last week I was lusting over the website Boutique of Molly at all their gorgeous clothing, when I stumbled onto the blazers and jackets section of the website and fell in love! Yes that's right, I fell in love with a blazer!!! On Friday of last week I ordered from them and I could not believe it arrived at about 11am on the Saturday, which is just amazing! The customer service of Boutique of Molly is amazing (honestly they were probably sick of seeing my emails popping up!), I am that awkward person that finds it impossible to order clothes online and not have to fiddle about with sending it back and forth to find my perfect size. I must have sent these guys emails constantly back and forth since Wednesday and they were super nice and helped me out by asking what items I was looking at, my dress size and body shape and they went through each item I was looking at and told me the exact sizes that would be best and why (for example I was looking at a dress as well as this blazer and they suggested trying the size 14 as it was more structured in the bust and I have a bigger bust so that was extremely helpful!).

Now I've never had a dark coloured blazer, but once I clapped eyes on this navy one I couldn't stop thinking about it! I got the Arabelle Gold Studded Shoulder Blazer Navy for just £26.95, they were kind enough to give me 30% off to try it (as a student any discount is always nice!). This baby is navy, full length sleeved blazer. The best part of this blazer is the details, it has (what looks to me like) rose gold studs on the shoulders as well as some studs on the sleeve which is such a cute little detail!

It is such a good quality blazer and it fits perfectly, normally I tend to fit awkward fits on the tops of my arms which leave me having to get the size up. I ironed this after receiving it (like anything I receive in the post) and had no problems with the ironing of it. I am currently in love with this blazer as it fits with my feminine chic style with a little bit of edginess from the studs.

I thought I would show you guys how I styled up my blazer to give you guys some ideas!

Beauty Blogger Tag

So it's a Sunday morning and I am writing this sat in my comfies, eating pancakes while reading blog posts and twittering. This was inspired by the lovely Miss Chelsea of Life of a Shoeaholic who has recently published this tag and well it looked like fun as well as a good way to tell you guys a bit more about me!

1 ~ Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
My hair is naturally straight, although it does have a slight wave to it especially if I go to bed with wet hair!

2 ~ What is your natural hair colour?
I am naturally as blonde as I am in my pictures but due to years of swimming and being lazy with washing my hair at the pool, it has darkened my hair to a dirty blonde colour now.

3 ~ Do you dye your hair yourself or go to a salon?
I always go to the Regis salons to get my hair dyed as I am terrified I am going to turn it green or something, plus I love the way my hair looks after my hairdressers done it!

4 ~ How often do you wash your hair?
Every couple of days. I try and avoid washing it everyday as due to me dying my hair is naturally dryer now that I dye it.

5 ~ Do you wear the same style everyday or change it?
I pretty much wear my hair natural 90% of the time, if I have an event or if I fancy a change I will style it differently.

6 ~ Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
I'm a student so I do my own, much much cheaper. Plus I work in healthcare so I whenever I am in work I have to have clean nails, I do buy higher end nail polish though so that when I do my nails it feels more luxurious.

7 ~ How often do you change your nail polish?
Depending if I'm working or not, I often try to keep one colour on my nails for a week if I'm not in work.

8 ~ Do you polish your toes in the winter or just in the summer?
50% of the time I do, if I'm having pamper night I will do them especially.

9 ~ How long does it take to put on your makeup?
My everyday face takes about 25 minutes, but it takes a bit longer depending on things like eye and lip makeup. This includes doing my full skincare routine as well, so the makeup part probably only takes about 15 minutes!

10 ~ What do you do first, face or eyes?
I've always done face first, I'm not skilled enough to not get my face makeup on my eyes if I do it the other way round.

11 ~ Do you 'collect' makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
I kind of do a bit of both, when I first started getting into makeup I got things because they were popular and I liked them. Now I tend to 'collect' makeup when I have the spare money.

12 ~ How often do you wear false eyelashes?
I very rarely wear false eyelashes, only very occasionally when I go out to events.

13 ~ Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?
If I'm going out I tend to wear makeup, it all depends on what I am doing that day.

14 ~ Do you wear makeup when your home alone or with your family?
When I'm at home I tend to go makeup free as I like that it gives my skin a chance to breathe!

15~ Will you leave home without makeup?
I do several days a week mainly because I don't wear makeup to the gym.

16~ How many high end products do you own?
I've never actually counted, however the high end products I own are mostly eye and lip products with the odd cheek product.

17 ~ How often do you wash your makeup brushes?
I try to wash them every week, but it all depends on how often I have done my makeup that week!

18 ~ Do you plan your OOTD every night or just decide when you are getting dressed?
If I have a event or a special day then I will tend to plan it the night before, but it is often my case that whenever I plan my outfit the weather completely flips on its head and I have to re-pick it anyway!

19 ~ How often do you change your handbag?
Depends on what I'm wearing as well as if I find a new bag I fall in love with, I tend to change it up quite a lot as I have bags of various sizes.

20 ~ What time do get up and go to sleep?
It all varies, I try to at least be in bed by midnight especially if I'm up early the next morning. I try to get up before 9am otherwise I feel like I get in a lazy funk and don't want to do anything for the rest of the day.

21 ~ How often and when do you work out?
I have recently got back into the gym, I try to stick to a schedule of going the gym every second day but on the days when I don't go to the gym I go out on long walks with my dog.

22 ~ Left or right handed?
Right handed

23 ~ How tall are you?
I'm 5ft 3", tiny I know!

24 ~ Do you speak a foreign language?
I speak a small bit of french. I am learning sign language as well if that counts, its not foreign but its a language!

25 ~ How many pets do you have?
I've got two, a cat called Blacky and a dog named Star.

26 ~ How often are you on blogger?
While I may not post every single day on my blog, I still log on to blogger nearly every day checking on things like comments from you guys as well as working on posts.

27 ~ Do you read the comments posted on your blog?
Yes I read and reply to all the comments on my blog.

28 ~ Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
I actually don't but that's a really good idea that I might start doing in the back of the book I use to write down my blog ideas.

29 ~ How did you come up with your blog name?
Well my blog is all about my journey through my nursing degree from a student nurse to a staff nurse, so the name came naturally!

30 ~ What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?
I use the Nikon L810 to take my pictures (which I'm still getting use to, so bear with!)

31 ~ How often do you clean your house?
I live at home at the moment so the chores are split between all of us, however I try to keep my room tidy and then I hoover my floor every weekend.

32 ~ What is your favourite colour?
My favourite colour tends to flit at different times of year, but I always tend to go back to coral and salmon-y pinks.

33 ~ What is your favourite beauty/fashion magazine?
I very rarely read magazines anymore, but when I do get chance to read them I tend to reach for Glamour and Look the most!

34 ~ Do you swear?
I will admit I do swear, however not massively and I think the swear word that I ever use the most is shite!

35 ~ What are you doing with the rest of your day?
I'm having a nice relaxed Sunday working on blog posts with the TV on in the background.

I love doing these types of posts and I think I might sprinkle them in from time to time, feel free to do this tag if you want to and let me know if you do!

All Buttered Up!

Hello my names Danielle and I don't moisturise my body as often as I should!!

Who else is with me on this one?! I know I'm not completely alone on it. I am really bad for not putting body lotion on after a shower which is partially due to the fact that it takes you about a year to put jeans on after you've moisturised, anyone felt this pain?! That being said I still have a collection of body lotions with the intention of each new one being the one that I use after every shower and I've treated myself to a new one that I have become obsessed with and I can't be the only one that is absolutely in love with these body butters!

Yes that right, it's The Body Shop body butters! Now I seem to have a bit of a love hate relationship with the body shop being that I absolutely love the products and the quality is just amazing but as a student I hate the prices as sometimes it can get a little bit expensive in there. However I recently found out that they have a card that you pay £5 for a year and you get 10% percentage off every time you shop for a year as well as gifts on your birthday as well as £5 and £10 off depending on how many times you shop there, so you basically get the money back of the card in your birthday gift!

As you can probably tell I picked up the cocoa butter scent and I really only picked it up because I had gone to buy my mum some bits for her birthday, smelt it and fell in love. I only put it back because at £13 it's a little on the pricey side for a student but as I paying and saying how nice it smelt the lovely sales assistant (I completely forget her name) told me I had a 'free' £5 to spend as well as the 10% so she managed to convince me to get it (it didn't really much convincing did it?!).

I'm not sure about the other body butters in the range but the cocoa butter version offers 24 hour hydration, it is marketed for 'very dry skin' although I don't have very dry skin and I still love the feeling of my skin after I've applied this! Now I prefer to put this on after I've had a shower/bath at night as then it really sinks in overnight and you will find your skin is so soft the next day that you can't stop touching your arms! I also love that the next day you smell so good as well, all you can smell is the body butter that you don't even need to wear perfume because you smell of cocoa butter but not in an overwhelming way but a subtle scent that then wears off towards the end of the day. It's also perfect for moisturising before you apply fake tan!

Whenever you apply this it feels so luxurious as it's a thicker cream (think semi-soft butter texture, in the nicest possible way!) which sinks straight into your skin without leaving you feeling feeling greasy or like you can't do anything for an hour after you apply it. With scents I find that depending on the product it can sometimes end up not smelling cheap but something just not smelling right, however this smells what I imagine cocoa to smell like, it is quite a sweet scent so if you're not a big fan of sweet scents I would recommend going into store to smell it before you get it!

I love it so much I'm very tempted to go back and get the hand lotion for the autumn/winter time, as I just think the scent and everything will be perfect for that time of year. To sell you even more on it, it's even made with community fair trade cocoa butter from Ghana!

If you want to get your hands on some, you can pick it up here.

Thrifty Finds ~ Modula Bag

I've been inspired in fashion and fitness by a certain awesome Las Vegas woman Miss Shana Emily of Color Blind Blog! I have been watching her vlogs on youtube over the past couple of weeks, she is amazing and such an inspiration when I need to get my butt to the gym when I just don't feel like it. If you don't know she doesn't just do fitness, she is also a brilliant thrifter and has inspired me to start looking for some thrifty pieces which is where the inspiration for this series has come from!

Let me introduce you to my first thrifty find...The Modula Pippa bag. Now this bag was been made famous within the UK by Pippa Middleton, this baby is worth over £200 and I managed to pick up this bad boy for £60 (due to the fact there is a stain in the middle pocket, but it doesn't bother me!). I only happened to come across it on a couture shop's facebook page that is local to me.

I am truly in love with this bag, I have been searching for ages for the perfect black bag that I can use everyday and can dress it up for occasions or interviews. Best of all it fits everything I need in the endless amounts of pockets!

Have you got a thrifty find?

Do you need a job whilst at university??

It's starting to get to that time of year where everyone is starting to accept their offers for university and decide which university they want to spend the next 3 years! So there couldn't be a better time to write about having a job at university.
