I may have taken a little break over Christmas and enjoyed some time with my family at home which is why this post is a little bit late going up but I'm sure no-body minds all that much!
One of my favourite things I like to do to wind down and relax is cook and bake, so getting time off at Christmas can only mean one thing....a DIY baking recipe and of course it had to be a reindeer cookie recipe for Christmas.

This can't be a blog for student nurses without a post on this at some point! With it coming towards the start of a new year, the time when everyone plans to get organise and set goals for themselves, I thought this post would come at completely the right time. Now most student nurses I know are not just juggling their academic bits with uni, most students I know are juggling their academic work as well as placement, a part-time job, a social life and have some sort of down time!

Now that is is officially Christmas time, I can start my Christmasy posts! I drank so many of these last year during the Christmas season I should have got shares in Starbucks, so this year I decided to try and recreate it at home to save myself some money.

Now I wish this time last year when I had just started my first year someone had written a post like this with some top picks on books for first year nursing students.

Starting year 2 of my nursing degree has made me realise and appreciate the ability to relax and have an evening to myself. I'm not going to lie, I am that person that can't sit around doing nothing or lie in bed all day (it even kills me when I'm sick and physically can't get out of bed)! Any fellow nurses or student nurses know that your degree training goes by super fast, pair that with a part-time job, assignments, placement and an attempt at a social life and you soon find yourself thinking when was the last time I had an evening to myself/did a face mask/had a bubble bath and a glass of wine?!!

I was actually planning to write a different blog post this week but I felt that I needed to impart this little nugget to anyone that will listen! Last week I ran out of my old faithful Batiste dry shampoo and remembered that Ruth Crilly had just released her new range of dry shampoos.

Breville Blend Active Personal Blender Review & My Favourite Smoothies

Back in August I bought the Breville blend active personal blender and since starting uni I have become obsessed with using this blender. I definitely find it so quick and easy in the morning especially when I'm bleary eyed and falling asleep into my coffee!
I thought for this post I would list my top recipes and uses for this handy blender, as well as my thoughts on it. First I think this little magic system needs a bit of praise, this little bargain only cost me £20 on offer in Asda but normally it only costs £29.50 so it's not particularly braking the bank if your a student compared to other brands where you can put down close to £100 for a very similar system. The box itself only contains the base unit, two 600ml bottles which I love the shape of as they fit perfectly in many different bags and lunchboxes and then the blade lid.

Yes for you chick flick buffs that is a thinly veiled reference to Mean Girls. This week has been my first week as a second year nursing student, while it's nice to be back the weather hasn't been the best!! However I am very excited that we are starting to get the autumn-y/winter weather, my favourite time of year! (Please excuse the photos this week I've got an tripod but need to get plate to hold my camera on the top, so these have been taken in my small full length mirror and on my iphone)

So I am currently writing this tucked up in bed cause I managed to get the flu, so I am currently writing this with flu brain (yes that's a real thing and if it's not I'm making it one!). When I was writing my post last week about my experiences in my first year, I mentioned how hectic your life can become when your training so I thought only fair to give you some tips and tricks to help combat it.

For the past year I have been studying to become a nurse at a red brick university in the north west. Now whilst some people may say it's a doddle, it can be quite challenging at times.

Hey guys,
So it's come to that time of year again......
.......New Stationary.
Yes I sadly am the type of person that gets excited about buying new stationary, come on we all know I'm not the only person that's like this! Now onto the good stuff....
So I haven't bought that much stationary for my second year of university as last year I bought things like my folders (Staples Better Binders - the best binders I've ever found), notebooks, dividers, pens, highlighters and paper. This year I just bought some top-up things.

I am planning to write posts on anything and everything to do with my nurse training and placements to lifestyle, fitness and beauty. I am hoping that this blog can help anyone currently training or hoping to start training soon even if you read it just to take a break.
