Spending Halloween With So Coco Rouge

I may not talk about it often but I have a big love for all things Halloween and SFX, so much so that in high school I did for a fleeting moment want to be an SFX makeup artist. One I'm not that good at makeup so that would have been a big fail and two my now latex allergy would make handling latex just impossible. Thankfully spending Halloween with the lovely folks at So Coco Rouge and Eve Jenkins at their Halloween makeup masterclass brought that love of transformative makeup back to life!

So Coco Rouge has been in Liverpool for 8 years now and is situated just behind St Geroge's Hall. I love that inside the salon it doesn't feel like a proper salon, it feels more like you are doing your hair and makeup with your friends! For the event, the lovely girls at So Coco Rouge had done up the entire salon with a ton of spooky decorations and cobwebs to truly get us ready for Halloween! Not only had they decorated for Halloween they had also arranged a bunch of sweets and treats to try whilst we watched the transformation, not going to lie I loved the black lemonade and black icing brain cookies.

The lovely Eve Jenkins (who is an amazing makeup artist for So Coco Rouge and youtube makeup guru!) hosted the blogger Halloween event and she transformed her model into a glam Medusa which included a headpiece made from Primark bendy rollers! I love that Eve chose a Medusa transformation as I feel like everyone is either going as a skeleton, clown or Harley Quinn and it was nice to see Eve choose a look that is part Halloween SFX and part glam makeup. I also low key, loved the lipstick colour!

Eve used a combination of products from Jeffree Star, Coloured Raine, Barry M, Makeup For Ever, Anatasia Beverly Hills and Hunt Or Dye coloured contacts. Eve is so incredibly talented, her look is amazing and I wish I didn't have a latex allergy so I could try out all these SFX looks! Whilst most people would be getting ready to go out to a Halloween party, I spent it with what I love most, playing with makeup (is there really any other way for me?!). Unfortunately, I had to head off pretty sharpish after the event finished to go to a night shift (I know!) but before I left they kindly gave us a goody bag filled with some exciting little bits and some Halloweeny bits and some makeup bits to try out! As well as some fake blood (and edible blood) and some goodies from Peaches & Cream and Tanya White Bits which I'm so excited to try out as I've never tried anything from either of brands.

I had such a fab time at the Halloween event, it definitely reignited my love for SFX makeup and it's the perfect place in town so I'm going to have to head back and have my hair done before an event.

What did you dress up as for Halloween?

Speak to you next time!
