Giorgio Armani Face Fabric Foundation | First Impressions

For as long as I've been doing my makeup (basically since I was a teenager), I've always been full coverage girl and Kate from Armani Manchester has been on a mission since she met me to make me fall in love with a lighter coverage look and she introduced to the new Giorgio Armani Face Fabric foundation. I finally tested it out this week and thought I would share my first impressions with you.

The Face Fabric foundation was originally created back in 2008 and was loved by everyone including the Kardashians, but unfortunately they decided to discontinue it and brought out other amazing foundations, some of which I'm a massive fan of. Thankfully they reconsidered and decided to give Face Fabric a makeover and brought it back this year. I got the chance to test this out back at the beginning of May when Kate coloured matched me and I decided to pick it up cause it was literally my perfect foundation shade! Face Fabric has a wide variety of shades, starting at 0 and going up to 11.5 (and yes I am shade 0, I told you I was pale!). The idea behind Face Fabric is that it is supposed to have that second skin effect with an easy to blend, foolproof application.

I took this for a proper test run (including a very humid, muggy day and being rained on) at the beginning of the week and from my first impressions I can see it fast becoming a favourite of mine. I applied this with all my usual every day makeup products and I'm so impressed, not going to lie I find the texture very unique and almost slightly odd. I'd call the texture of the foundation like a velvet mousse which I wasn't sure how I'd get on with but surprisingly it applies with literally no problems and can be applied with either a brush (I used a duo fibre stippling brush) or you can even apply it with your fingers. I ended up with a medium coverage and only needed a little bit of concealer under my eyes (chronic bad eyebags) and on a couple of pimples, it settles to a matte finish with the idea that it keeps your skin perfect anytime, anywhere. Whilst I'm not a fan of the super matte look when it comes to foundation, I applied the Neo Nude Fusion powder on top to set it in place for the day and it gave me beautiful lit from within, glowing skin!

I was a little worried about the super matte finish as my dry skin doesn't often fair well with them, however this literally melts into nothing on your skin and feels your aren't even wearing any makeup which is perfect for this humid, muggy weather we're having at the moment. Now I am a bugger for touching my face, even more so when I've got makeup on and after a full day of wear and touching my face, sweating from the muggy heat and being rained on, I got home and it still looked as incredible as it did when I applied it.

I can't wait to give this foundation a test run in work especially in this warm weather to see how it holds up! I'd highly recommend going and getting coloured matched and giving it a test run because I can guarantee that it's going a firm favourite for everyone this summer!
