I've always wanted to be that 25 year old that's got her shit together and goes for brunch at the weekend, so I'm always up for trying out new breakfast places in Liverpool. Thankfully, two great independent food places have teamed up to bring everyone in Liverpool an amazing new brunch menu and they kindly invited me in to be a lady who brunches and try out their new menu.

There are so many great food places in Liverpool and since the end of February, the lovely people at Santa Maluco opened their doors for guys at Bold Street Coffee to give us somewhere amazing to come for brunch right in the city centre. Not only are they offering brunch but with this collaboration you can get everything from incredible coffee and brunch foods to Rodizo style pizza and cocktails! Bold Street Coffee had been fuelling Liverpool with their delicious coffees since 2010 and I am ashamed to admit that it's taken me 8 years to finally try out their coffee.

Of course, I took along my other half in blogging Sam for brunch, she's much more adventerous with her food choices whilst I tend to have the tastes of a child. I arrived with an empty stomach, in desperate need of caffeine and missing my brunch partner, so I got a head start on trying the coffee whilst I waited for Sam to arrive. Since I've had to cut down the amount of coffee I drink, I feel like I've become a little bit of a coffee snob and Bold Street Coffee definitely didn't disappoint! Although I did kind of want an iced latte, thanks to the cold, rainy weather I decided to go for the mocha that was almost the size of my head whilst I drooling over the menu choices.

Once Sam arrived it then got to the hard part.....deciding what on earth we were gonna have for brunch. Even though Bold Street Coffee decided to launch a small brunch menu there is still plenty to choose from, even for someone fussy like me! Not only was the menu full of super yummy food, all of the dishes are also very picture friendly because let's be real, did you really go for brunch if you didn't take a picture of it?! Sam went for her latest obsession avocado toast with chilli flakes and scrambled eggs on the side and I decided to go for the BSC breakfast bowl which was filled with yoghurt, loads of fruit and nuts, we also decided to get a side of bacon because it isn't brunch without some bacon!

Normally we spent the time it takes for the food to arrive to catch up and gossip, however Santa Maluco and Bold Street Coffee were too quick for us and before we knew it we'd just started sipping our drinks and our breakfast had arrived. My BSC breakfast bowl was delicious and a super light way to do brunch, I loved the nuts that were sprinkled on top, it gave the dish a nice crunch and savoury taste. We are friends that share, so of course I tried some of Sam's avo toast which was delicious and I'm definitely starting to fall in love with avocados. Now I'm not a fan of eggs but the scrambled eggs that Sam had looked seriously good and I was really toying with the idea of trying them (I didn't try the eggs but I very almost did so that goes to show how delicious they looked!). There really is something for everyone on the menu with veggie and gluten free options.

I've found my new favourite place to go for brunch (and coffee when I'm on the go!), it's such a lovely atmosphere inside, the staff are so incredible friendly (and funny too) so I'd highly, highly recommend it, whether you are a local or travelling from afar. Don't forget that you can grab your favourite brunch partner and head down to Santa Maluco to try out the brunch collaboration everyday of the week from opening until 3.30pm.

Where's your favourite brunch spot?

Speak to you next time!
