YSL Liverpool & Fred Letailleur

There really is no better way to finish a week of night shifts than to spend it at YSL Liverpool with the incredible (and super nice) international makeup artist for YSL Fred Letailleur. As a blogger, it's lovely to be invited to makeup masterclasses with premium beauty brands (especially brands that I'm new to trying out) and it's even nicer when the masterclasses are run by the international makeup artist for the brand!

Back at the beginning of Feb, I wrote all about my wonderful experience trying out YSL Liverpool for the first time and I was super excited when Helen invited me to come down for their recent makeup masterclass with Fred Letailleur! The YSL counter in Harvey Nichols Beauty Bazaar had the lovely Fred Letailleur and his glam squad who spent the afternoon transforming everyone into their inner supermodel.

Even though I'd had about 3 hours sleep before I came (thanks night shifts!) Helen transformed my skin and made me look like I'd had an incredible nights sleep. Before she made me look 100 times better, Helen talked me through the YSL Forever Youth Liberator skincare and I actually got to try out the eye serum and facial serum. It was so intriguing to me to use a serum on my under eye area instead of an eye cream and I must admit that I actually really like it! I think I'm going to switch to this eye serum when my current eye creams run out. Both the eye and facial serums contain 3 glycans to help reduce fine lines, dark circles and promote a more youthful complexion, something I am desperately in need of after night shifts!

Last time I came to YSL, we focused more on a striking eye look but this time we decided to focus on having a flawless base and using contour to give my face some shape. Helen went for the Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation which gave me the coverage I so desperately needed whilst giving me a lightweight, radiant base. We decided to go for a quick neutral daytime smokey eye with the limited edition Eye Duo Smokers, it is the perfect purse product for getting that on the go smokey eye or for taking your daytime work look into an evening drinks look. The duo smokers come in four limited edition shades and each shade has a deep matte shade for that smokey outer corner and a lighter shimmery colour for highlighting and giving a bit of glitz to the look.

After Fred had finished his stunning makeup look on a fellow YSL customer, he came over and we chatted all things YSL, makeup and blogging. It was so lovely to have the chance to chat with him in a more intimate setting and find out what it's like working as an international makeup artist for YSL (p.s the looks he's created for YSL are gorgeous!). I am already shooting myself in the foot for not getting a picture with him whilst we were chatting, I may have got too distracted talking about blogging and beauty!

What's your favourite YSL product?

Speak to you next time!

  1. The ONLY YSL I have ever tried was their touché éclat! Your eyes look gorgeous, I love the darker shades on you! Nothing beats a masterclass, there's only so much you can learn off YouTube, but getting hands on with help right there makes it so much easier to learn new looks!
