Reflection on 2017 | Blogmas

I can't believe that we are fast approaching the end of 2017 and I thought I would take some time in blogmas to reflect on my goals that I set at the beginning of 2017 and how I got on with accomplishing them. I genuinely felt like 2017 was a bit of a flop in terms of goals for myself. I felt so inspired with my goals at the beginning of the year and I have no idea what happened and why I didn't achieve them!

Blog & Youtube
This one I did semi achieve, I made it my goal this year to upgrade my camera (which I did) and take my blog and youtube channel to the next level. Whilst I didn't post as frequently as I'd like on my youtube channel (I forgot how long it takes me to film, edit and upload videos), I did manage to post semi-frequently and complete vlogtober and vlogmas which is better than I did the year before. I also got really serious with my posting schedule on my blog this year and I think for 90% of the year I posted twice a week which I'm really proud of.

I did really well at the beginning of the year with taking more time to look after me and my mental health but I feel like as we got further through the year and got busier and busier, this goal just kinda fell on the back burner. However, this one will be back for 2018 for my New Year, New Me series!

Loose Weight & Tone Up
This is another goal that I started really well with and it is something I've struggled with mentally for years and particularly this year. I have really struggled this year with my mental approach with food and eating, that coupled with a back injury that means I've only been able to complete really low-impact workouts such as walking, so I haven't really lost weight and toned up like I wanted to. Thankfully my back is getting to a point where I can start upping my workouts without being in pain and barely able to move for days.

Stay Organised
Now I have stayed organised throughout the year but maybe not in the way I originally planned at the beginning of the year. I used to be such a motivated person like I could work a full shift at work and then get a bunch of work done on my blog and a ton of university work done when I got home. I feel like as the year has progressed I seem to have fallen out of love with using stickers in my planner and have decided to go for a more simplified, no sticker planner from Dear Diary which I am in love with and cannot wait to use. I also hope that it is going to help me get back to the motivational person I once was.

Start Saving
I also did this one partly, I started saving and have saved bits but nowhere close to what I hoped to save by the end of 2018. I made the decision to buy myself a budget planner for 2018 so I can put all my spending on paper where I can see it and not hidden in my online banking in the hopes that it'll encourage me to spend less and save more.

How have you gotten on with your 2017 goals?

Speak to you next time!
