Debenhams Charity Evening

Clarins beauty essence and instant eye makeup remover

Whilst I get invited to a fair few blogger events, it's surprisingly rare how few are in aid of charity. So I got really excited when I had an email from the lovely people at Debenhams who told me they were hosting a charity evening event to raise money for the intensive care unit at the Countess of Chester hospital.

Unfortunately, on the evening I was working a long day in the intensive care unit I work at which meant I finished too late to attend. Luckily the people at Debenhams kindly invited me down to the Coliseum Shopping Park right next to Cheshire Oaks last week to check out their beauty hall and have a little spend seen as I missed the amazing event.

The event was organised in collaboration with Nicola Stubbs and her lovely department from the Lloyds Banking Group. Unfortunately one of their team required the care of the intensive care unit and in that team members memory they have organised and participated in a bunch of fundraising activities to raise money for the intensive care unit. At the charity evening, Debenhams kindly arranged for everyone to have bubbly on arrival as well as a 10% discount off the beauty and fragrance department. They also hosted a raffle with prizes from Pandora, several fragrance houses, skincare and designer bags. Before leaving every guest received a goody bag full to the brim of samples from the different brands in the Coliseum's beauty hall. On the evening, everyone raised £850 and Lloyds very kindly offered to match the donations raised so a whopping £1,700 was raised!!

Now the Coliseum Debenhams doesn't have a huge beauty and fragrance hall unlike some stores in major cities but it has the perfect mixture of skincare and beauty and it even had a Benito brow bar! When I nipped into the beauty hall to pick up something with my voucher, I was spoilt for choice and couldn't decide what I wanted to get. I ended up gravitating towards Clarin's (I've become obsessed with their skin care this year!) and I decided to treat myself to something that I wouldn't rush out normally to buy straight away. I repurchased a favourite of mine, the Instant Eye Makeup Remover, this godsend helps remove the stubbornest of my waterproof mascaras without irritating my eyes or making them sting. My treat was the Super Restorative Treatment Essence which you use after cleansing and toning but before you put your serums and creams on. It helps to prepare your skin for your serums and creams whilst helping it look brighter.

I love the Coliseum Shopping Park, it's the perfect mixture of shops, places to eat, entertainment and it's right next door to Cheshire Oaks. I found it the perfect spot for a day out with the girls and I'd highly recommend heading there for your next shopping day!

Where's your favourite place to shop?

Speak to you next time!

*I was kindly gifted a voucher from Debenhams.

  1. Wow a charity event is super cool! I agree with you that I don't see a LOT of events that are doing it for charity, so it's really refreshing too see. ☺️💕 Also they seemed to have raised a lot so that's fantastic news! xx
