Liquid Lipsticks & Facials with The Body Shop

As you may already know, liquid lipsticks have been everywhere this year. From Kylie Jenner to Sleek and now The Body Shop have launched their own version. To kick off October, I got to attend The Body Shop in Birkenhead for their first ever event and let me tell you they killed it!

On Monday I started my first staff nurse post and I was super excited to get an invite last week to this event as it was such a nice little treat before I started working full time again! It was so great to have a bloggers event that was actually on the Wirral as a lot of events are either in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds etc. Luckily Katy was also coming (I hate walking into events alone especially if I don't know anyone there!), so I was able to meet up with her beforehand. I didn't realise when I got the email that Sarah (the manager who organised the event) was doing her first ever blogger event, she did so well! It was a smaller blogger event and even though the shop was open whilst the event was happening, we had her full attention and nothing was too much trouble for her!

As we arrived we were welcomed by Sarah, given drinks and allowed to roam around before the activities started to take pictures and look at products. Sarah had arrange three little stations for us to go to, find out about new products and try them out.

First up was Spa of the World, this range is their luxurious body care range that has everything from massage oils, bath milks, body masks, scrubs, creams and for a limited time candles! The range revolves around three different rituals, Blissful, Revitalising and Relaxing with each ritual having specific products that give the desired effect. After we were talked through all the products we were given a questionnaire that allowed us to circle the way we were currently feeling and how we would like to feel. After we'd filled it in, we were told which ritual would be perfect for how we were feeling (in typical me fashion, I ended up being two of the three rituals!).

Sarah then sat us down, gave us a facial and talked us through the Oils of Life skincare range as well as the face masks. The Oils of Life range is a luxurious skincare range that literally smells like you're having a spa treatment whenever you put it on. It contains three precious seed oils, Black Cumin, Camellia and Rosehip oils. I also got to try out the Amazing Acai face mask which literally makes you look like you have jam on your face. These masks are so cooling when applied to your face and my skin was so smooth and brightened.

I was really excited to try out the new makeup launches (hey, I am a makeup addict after all!). Their new liquid lipsticks had just launched before the event and have been seriously popular, unlike most liquid lipsticks on the market currently these don't have that drying effect that most do. I have tried a couple of different brands and I must say I've never had a more moisturising lip product (even those that aren't liquid lipsticks or mattifying products). When applied it dried super quick leaving you feeling like you haven't got any lip product on! They also smell beautiful, with an almost vanilla scent. My only downside is that a couple of shades are darker than the opaque container shows.

I had such an amazing time at the event and I cannot wait to try out all the products! I also cannot wait for their Christmas products to come out.

Speak to you next time!
*I was invited to The Body Shop Birkenhead to see their new launches. All views and opinions are 100% honest and my own.

    1. It was so lovely, I've never had anything remotely like a facial. It was also perfectly timed having it the weekend before I started work! They are amazing Sarah, you have to go and get a little sample of them. They all smell so good!! xx
