Girl Gang Event

A couple of weeks ago, I got a super exciting message on Twitter from the lovely Jemma or Dorkface (and if you don't know who she is, shame on you!) letting me know that a last minute place had come up for the first Girl Gang event and I literally squealed with joy and yes I was in public when she told me so I looked like a complete idiot!!

The event itself was held in a bar called Dive in Manchester City Centre, who kindly sectioned off part of the bar with curtains which made it feel like we had our own bar to ourselves! It was so lovely of Jemma to throw the event in Manchester as it helped make it as travel-friendly as possible! Luckily for me I had a very quick (especially compared to some dedicated bloggers) train journey from Liverpool and met Tasmin who kindly directed me around Manchester cause it has been AGES since I've been.

I ended up arriving an hour before the event, but by the time I'd met Tasmin and we'd hidden from the rain (the heavens decided to open as soon as we got out the train station) it was time to meet Bex and Lyd and go to the venue. Once we arrived Jemma was so welcoming and everyone was welcomed by a massive hug, does that make you feel welcomed or what?!

The lovely people from Pinkster gin came and made us all yummy raspberry and mint G&T's. Pinkster gin is infused with raspberries which actually makes it taste pretty good. I've never actually tried gin before and I'm not going to lie it wasn't actually that bad!

I spent most of the day vlogging (yes I've done more vlogging in public, be proud!), taking pictures and catching up with Bex, Lyd and Holly. I also got to meet some truly inspirational amazing bloggers who I have admired since I started blogging! We even managed to raise a bunch of money (I'm not sure on the exact amount) for the Whitechapel centre.

We also all got to surprise Jemma at the end as we all had a group chat going before the event where everyone put some money together to go towards Jemma getting her phone fixed. I even managed to get a clip of her getting it for my vlog which I'll leave below, we almost got her crying!

I had such an amazing day and a massive thank you to Jemma for inviting me along!!

Speak to you next time!

  1. I don't think I met you here, or if I did I didn't recognise you. I must try and make an effort to get early to these events, it might help me with speaking to more people. When I arrive late it's a little daunting walking into a room full of people!
