Getting a tan with Madame LA LA

There is something you should know about me....I really struggle to get any sort of tan! I haven't sunbathed since about high school but when I do 'catch' the sun, I burn then go brown for less than a week and it all peels off! Over the years I have begun to come to terms with my paleness (that sounds really silly to say but I have!), however I've never really been able to like how pale my legs are when I wear skirts, dresses or shorts.

Even with my pale skin I have never over the years tried false tanner as I am terrified of looking like a streaky wotsit (come on, we've all at least thought that once with false tanner). I was really excited but nervous when I was sent of bottle of the Madame LA LA false tanner and I couldn't wait to try it out!

Nowadays if you go to the false tanner section of Boots, Superdrug or even in your supermarket, you will find enough false tanners to make your head spin! Let me introduce you to Madame La La....the best false tanner I've ever used! Madame La La was created by Nicole Dash Jones a British beauty entrepreneur, artist/songwriter who spent time living in LA as well as England. Her brand was inspired by all the aspects of LA, the beach, the lifestyle, the wellbeing and the anti-ageing rule.

We've have BB creams and CC creams, now we've got the DD self tanner which incorporates coco water, aloe, green tea, vitamin E as well as plus built-in skin finishing perfectors, all rolled up in a delicious coconut scent that can be used on both your face and body.

As you can see I am seriously pale.....I even rival milk bottles! I been testing this out of the past couple of weeks and I am truly in love. My routine to get a gorgeous looking colour is just to shave and exfoliate in the shower the night/day before and apply a non-scented moisturiser to any particularly dry areas of my body. The next day about 15 minutes before I tan I apply a very small amount to any areas I get that are particularly dry, you know the drill knees, elbows, ankles etc and apply!

I tend to use about two pumps on any bigger areas of my body and one on the small areas. I find that one pump on larger areas tends to give a slight hint of colour without looking like you've baked in the sun for hours on holiday, whereas two pumps gave me a beautiful bronze colour that was just perfect without looking unnatural. You can see the difference below in my tanned legs and my pale and pasty arms (I was only going to tan one leg but I couldn't handle anyone catching me with one tanned leg for at least a week!).

Pros ~

  • Beautiful bronze shade no matter what colour your skin is naturally.
  • It dries SUPER fast! I did one leg and when I moved onto the other it was already dry!
  • The scent is just delicious, no more horrible biscuit scent!
  • No more stained sheets or clothes!
  • No more streaks, it blended in perfectly!
  • Lasts up to 10 days with regularly moisturising.
  • Wears off naturally, no more patchy tan!

Cons ~
  • I actually haven't got any cons for this product at all, I'm completely in love

You can find all of the Madame La La goodness online from their website as well as from Superdrug online and your local store!

Speak to you next time!
*I was sent the false tanner by Madame La La to test out and review. All opinions are honest and my own.

  1. This review came at the most perfect time for me. I am looking for a self tanner and as i've never used one before, I could do with all the advice I can get.

    Thanks for sharing

    1. I loved this one Steph, I think I've only used one other self tanner so I was pretty nervous to try this one out but it's sooo easy to use and blend and you get such a great result!
