Fleur De Force 'The Glam Guide' Book Review

I thought this week I would branch out my blog posts as I wanted to start including a couple of books, mainly because I used to be such a MASSIVE book worm when I was younger and I want to fall back in love with them! Now I know YouTuber books are in that kind of grey area as it seems like EVERYONE has or is bringing one out and it's just a case of waiting for the next one. However this was the first book I bought that was written by a YouTuber, mainly because it looked so pretty and Fleur De Force was one of the first YouTubers I ever watched when I first started watching videos.

Whilst The Glam Guide features a little bit of everything, the main feature is beauty, hair and fashion. Obviously the book reflects Fleur perfectly as her channel and videos/blog post feature a large amount of beauty, hair and fashion. I'm not going to lie I purchased this book because whilst I loved watching Fleur's videos and reading her blog posts, I thought the design would make it such a pretty book to have out on a coffee table or on a bookcase!

Before I got in the world of blogging, one of my inspirations was Fleur. Her way of writing, style and photography skills all served as such an inspiration for me when I first started up my blog and she still serves as an inspiration now 2 years on. I feel like since I started watching her videos and reading her blog posts, she has done really well for herself without changing herself!

This book looks beautiful from the front cover all the way to the back cover, with the covers adorned with rose gold and watercolours and some beautiful pictures (I especially love the blue heels and yellow mug). I love that the watercolour design doesn't just stay on the front and back covers, it features on almost every page on throughout the book.

Whilst she features beauty, makeup, fashion and hair, she also includes chapters on health and fitness, travel, relationships, body image and YouTube/blogging. Even though the title is 'The Glam Guide' it's great that she's decided to feature chapters about promoting positive body image and relationships as well, it's a really nice touch as it makes it accessible for others that aren't interested in a book that is purely about beauty and fashion!

As she was a big influence in starting my own blog and YouTube channel, I loved that she included information about equipment, tips on how to stay inspired and growing your audience. Another favourite part of the book is that at the end of every chapter there is a couple of pages with Fleur's top ten tips for that subject which is great if you have read the book but still want to remember a certain tip, you can just flip back to the tip section as and when you want to!

Have you got a favourite book written by a YouTuber? What do you think of the whole YouTubers writing books craze?

Speak to you next time!

    1. You should definitely get it Helena, I love the book! I tend to dip in and out of it, but it looks so pretty out on a coffee table or desk.
