Get in loser....We're going shopping!

So just before my birthday I may have been really really bad and bought myself a bunch of clothes, mainly because I haven't been clothes shopping in literally AGES and my birthday was this week so I decided to treat myself! And what do you do when you buy loads of clothes?....A mini look book of course!! Now in England it has been freezing your tush off weather so I wanted outfits that were cute but was still warm, I also wanted them to hint a bit towards spring and the hopes of some sun!

Life Rambles ~ 23rd Birthday

I finally got the chance to try out Archie's, I have been eyeing this place up ever since I saw a post on Liverpool Bloggers. Last week myself and Danielle (MyLilyoTV) caught up for lunch and birthday shopping.

I've spend the last six months in placement, lectures and work so it was so refreshing to catch with one of my bestest friends and go shopping. I genuinely don't know the last time I just went shopping, not because I needed something but just went to browse and get whatever takes my fancy. I really did have an amazing birthday, coupled with a great HD brows treatment (that I will be writing a post on very soon), amazing food, and a trip to one of the best shops in Liverpool......LUSH Liverpool.

My Career Goals

In the next month or two I start job hunting for my registered nurse position, so I thought I would write about what my career goals are for about the next 10 years-ish. I also thought it would be a great way to look back in years to come to re-motivate myself if I ever feel like I've lost my way!

I'm feeling 23!

Yes the title is cheesy, but I don't think I did a post last year for my 22nd birthday so it's allowed!!

So today is my 23rd birthday and normally I spend it not really doing much! This year I've decided it was time to make a change!!! I am not a massive drinker so I have arranged to go out for lunch with two of my greatest friends that I met through blogging, Danielle and Kiah.

Letter to my teen self

This week I thought I would do something a little bit different. On Wednesday I turn 23 so I wanted to write a letter to my teen self. Before I started writing this, I was completely oblivious that there has actually been a book written that includes advice letters from 70 authors to their teen self, which you can find here. I thought I would write a letter to my 13 year old self and encourage anyone that wants to do the same to go for it!!

Why I went into nursing.....

Recently in uni I've been helping out with the open days and selection/interview days, the common question that I keep getting asked besides what the course is like was 'Why did you get into nursing?', so I thought why not tell all you lovelies!!

About 4 and a half years ago, I decided that I wanted to go into nursing. Part of that decision was influenced by my grandmother and part of it was influenced by me!

My grandmother had always been a nurse for her entire career even with 5 children!! She became a State enrolled nurse, I believe SEN's were just below registered general nurses on qualifications...well at least that's what my grandmother told me. Towards the end of her career she moved from caring for patients in hospital to caring for patients in nursing homes and she loves it, she was able to give the care she wanted to with less time constraints. She always loved her job and told me how amazing it was being a nurse was even way back in the 1950's!

Let's Get Lazy

This year I made it one of my goals to have more me time and relax more; completing a nursing degree and placements whilst holding down a job and social life is hectic, it leaves me working until late in the evening/going to bed after midnight and getting up at 6.30/7am. In 2016, I want to have a relaxation day or evening/a lazy day where I don't have an exact plan of what I am going to be doing that day (anyone that knows me, knows I plan everything and am never without my planner)!

I love getting to lie in and it is definitely something I take full advantage of. I generally will set a 9am alarm, just so that I don't sleep in past lunch by accident! I always have to start my day off with a cup of tea, it's a weird thing I've done for years that it's stuck and I rarely go for anything other than tea. Not gonna lie to you guys....if I'm having a lazy day, I really don't tend to have breakfast (I also sometimes eat unhealthy foods for breakfast, but sssshh!).

Dissertation Tips

So it's getting near to final dissertation submission time, I thought I would give you all some tips about your dissertations. I had 4 months to write my dissertation from start to finish, so I had to become fairly organised and learn some time-saving tips!

My 2016 goals

Well it's officially 2016 which is slightly terrifying for me as at the end of 2016 I will be graduating and fingers crossed will be a registered staff nurse. I thought I would put my goals on here as I thought it might be a way to motivate myself to keep to them as well keeping myself accountable! I am trying to avoid calling them resolutions this year as I feel it kind of gives it less pressure to call them goals.

This year I am planning in an Erin Condren life planner which actually features a section that has 12 boxes which you could use for anything you wanted to, I'm planning to use them to keep track on a monthly basis of how I am getting on with my yearly goals and how far I've come! I am off for the whole of January so I am hoping that I can get the start of these goals down by the end of the month so that the changes will be properly embedded in me so before I go back to lectures and placement!
